Fox Sports Bans Super Bowl Crypto Ads

Mark Evans, executive vice president of ad sales for Fox Sports, has stated on AP News today that the Super Bowl will not be airing any advertisements related to cryptocurrency opposed to previous years which saw companies like FTX, Coinbase, and Crypto.com all coming together to help promote the industry. 

Evans said that plans were in place to air commercials for cryptocurrency, but they were dropped following the FTX crash, saying “There’s zero representation in that category on the day at all.” The move marks a clear shift in tone from an industry that had previously supported cryptocurrencies. It’ll be interesting to see if the NBA or FIFA do anything similar in May when the NBA playoffs and Champions League near their championship games.
