London Stock Exchange Clearing BTC Futures, Options

LONDON, UK – London Stock Exchange Group announced Thursday it would begin offering clearing services for cash-settled bitcoin futures and options. LCH DigitalAssetClear, the exchange’s French arm, will finalize trades made on GFO-X, a UK-regulated digital asset exchange.

Arnab Sen, Co-Founder & CEO of GFO-X, stated, “Recent market events in the trading of digital assets have highlighted the need for a safe, regulated venue where large financial institutions can trade at scale while keeping their clients’ assets protected.”

This latest move is among many traditional finance power players entering the crypto market. As the interest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies grows, LCH's move into clearing services for Bitcoin futures and options represents a significant step towards the mainstream adoption of digital assets.
