Moonbirds announced that the claiming period for their upcoming NFT collection Mythic Eggs will be on April 17th. They also suggested that higher-tiered nests, such as the diamond nest, have a higher chance of producing rare Moonbird Mythic tokens.

Nesting, a form of staking for Moonbirds, was considered a major utility by the community when the collection was first minted. The feature takes rarity into account as a multiplier to the length of time that tokens are nested and it appears to have an influence on the new Mythic Eggs.  

Moonbirds Mythics was originally announced in December 2022. The collection is a reimagining of the Moonbird's artwork, replacing their pixelated form for smoother, more modern imagery. Earlier in 2022, the Moonbirds artwork was granted creative common status to the chagrin of their community and Mythics could be PROOF Collective’s method of appeasing their community after the decision.
