Build on Aptos: Outlier Ventures Accelerator

With the Aptos network continuing to grow steadily, the Aptos Labs team has announced that they are beginning a new accelerator program with Outlier Move to help developers learn the Move language so that they can begin developing projects on the Aptos blockchain.

In the rapidly growing world of Web3, the Aptos Accelerator could become a vital program by bridging opportunities for growth, funding new founders, and early-stage projects on Aptos. The program aims to train and support boundary-pushing individuals and startups, empowering them to unlock the next generation of Web3 ideas.

The Aptos Outlier Move Accelerator

The accelerator program, which is scheduled to last 12 weeks, will take place in Palo Alto, California, and offers $100,000 in funding for participants so they can explore new concepts and ideas revolving around web3 including GameFi, NFTs, DeFi, and web3 infrastructure.

To do so, the accelerator program will give participants opportunities to take part in mentorship programs that revolve around distinct subject matter expertise so that they can learn how to use the Move language more efficiently when developing new projects.

Eligibility will be open to startups that have expressed an interest in the Aptos network and those who have already begun working on it. Applications have already been officially opened and will continue to be open until the middle of April 2023.

Move Programming Language

One of the most important aspects of the accelerator is teaching developers how to use the Move language in order to begin working on the network. Move was originally developed by Meta when they were first exploring blockchain technology but has since been abandoned by the company.

However, the team behind the Aptos network has decided to use it and is looking to help other coders learn. According to Aptos Labs, the Move language was created in an effort to solve the scalability trilemma which identifies the challenges of building a protocol that can be scalable, secure, and decentralized. In many situations, a network can only focus on two aspects of the dilemma, and if Aptos were to solve the issue it could create a major impact on web3.

Aptos gives great ambition when explaining the Move language, stating that by learning how to use it, developers will be able to create a network ecosystem that can reliably handle over a billion users.

Leadership in Web3

The collaboration between Aptos Labs and Outlier Ventures will help bring much needed web3 experience to the accelerator. Advisors from Outlier’s and Aptos’ own personal team will both be a part of the accelerator, assisting them in understanding the network and how to build Dapps and other projects on top of it.

Outlier specifically has been helping with web3 accelerators since 2019 and has the necessary experience to continue helping developers working on new networks. Their expertise could cause a large boon for the network which shows no signs of slowing down since its launch in 2022. Given success, the Aptos network could become a major player in web3.
