Steph curry is the First BAYC Member to win FMVP

As most sports fans already know, the Golden State Warriors won their 4th Championship in 8 years marking a return to form for the NBA team from the Bay.

After a 3 year stint with Kevin Durant which resulted in 2 championships, many NBA fans were starting to think that the Warriors were unable to win another championship without their former star player.

However, after 2 seasons filled with injuries, a global pandemic, and a new roster, the Golden State Warriors were able to silence their doubters with a dazzling display of grit and perseverance.

But what does this have to do with crypto?

BAYC Holder Steph Curry

As of June 16th, 2021, Steph Curry is officially the first BAYC Member to win an NBA Championship and Finals MVP award.

Following the end of game 6, the NFT crowd on Twitter erupted in cheer as they saw a prominent member of their community attain new career heights.

Since September 2021, Steph Curry has been an active member of the BAYC following his purchase of BAYC #7990. He has also done a commercial for FTX.

Sports and Crypto

The entire sports world is becoming a fan of cryptocurrency and NFTs. Athletes have begun electing to receive portions of pay in cryptocurrency and are sponsoring various NFT collections with their signatures.

The NBA and Crypto

The NBA has specifically become enthralled with cryptocurrency and its ability to help promote its brands for players, teams, and sportswear.

The Lakers arena in Los Angeles was recently renamed to Crypto.Com Arena. The Miami Heat arena was also renamed FTX Arena.

Further, the NBA sponsored their own NFT collection during the 2022 playoffs with the Association NFT collection which featured dynamic art for tokens based on the performance of their representative athletes.
