Luxury Brand NFTs

No.1 Balmain X Barbie

The iconic dolls entered the metaverse when Balmain introduced a Balmain X Barbie collection in January 2022. The project consists of three Barbie avatars that were produced in association with FORGOT ME NOT GMBH and sold at auction along with a real Barbie model.

French designer Pierre Balmain, who started his career working as Paul Poiret's assistant, founded the brand. In 1945, Balmain founded his own fashion house as a result of his success as a women's apparel designer. There, he created outfits for Hollywood celebrities and socialites like Zsa Zsa Gabor and Brigitte Bardot.

No.2 Burberry

Blankos Block Party, an NFT-based game, has a character that is specific to Burberry. The first digital item in the Burberry B-Series was released in partnership between the game's developer, Mythical Games Inc., and the British fashion business as an NFT named "Sharky B'' that players in the game can collect and trade.

Sharky B features Burberry's own line of in-game NFT accessories, such as jetpacks, armbands, and pool shoes, which can also be added to other in-game characters. The game is available on both Mac and PC.

No.3 Dolce and Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana's partnership with UNXD was an unquestionable success as it was the first major fashion company ever to introduce an NFT collection. The collection, Collezione Genesi, featured nine items: four exclusively digital NFTs and five NFTs that were accompanied by unique physical pieces. The entire collection was sold out for $6 million.

No.4 Chito x Givenchy

On his second collaboration with Mexican-based artist Chito, Matthew M. Williams, the creative director of Givenchy, decided to explore the possibilities of NFTs. The 15 items from the Chito x Givenchy collection mainly featured pitbulls and young characters, both a boy and a girl. The NFTs were crafted in Chito's trademark graffiti style, which gives the impression that actual spray paint rather than a digital paintbrush was used to create designs on canvas.

No.5 Louis Vuitton

To celebrate the 200th birthday of founder Louis Vuitton, the brand launched its very first NFT game, “Louis: The Game.” in partnership with digital artist Beeple on April 8, 2021.

Accompanied by Vivienne, the company's mascot, players set on a quest to search for 200 collectible candles. A total of 30 NFTs are featured in the game, some of them were personally designed by Beeple. However, the NFTs can only be used by their initial collector, meaning you can’t resell them to other players. The game is available on all mobile devices.

No.6 Jimmy Choo

In 2021, legendary luxury brand Jimmy Choo launched their own NFT in collaboration with renowned artist Eric Haze. Done in the form of an exclusive auction, winners of the sold-out collection received a hand-painted digital sneaker by Eric Haze, as well as an exclusive IRL copy of the shoes they were made for. Profits from the auction were donated to The Jimmy Choo Foundation, in support of Women for Women International.

No.7 Gucci

Unlike many other luxury brands NFTs, Gucci has launched more than one project in web3. Teaming up with SUPERPLASTIC and 10KTF, Gucci embraced the web3 world with projects like SUPERGUCCI and Gucci Grail.

In 2022, in partnership with SuperRare, its latest collection “The Next 100 Years of Gucci” was released to once again honor the brand’s heritage. The project features 10 artists, including Alexis Christodoulou, Aliendope, Diberkato, Drew Young, Jordan Schiffer, Pet Liger, trs.mnz, Tyler Spangler, Vexx, and YEAHYEAHCHLOE, to reflect on the brand’s history and present its vision of the future.

No.8 Tiffany

One of the trendiest projects of 2022’s second half, Tiffany's NFTiff created non-stop buzz in both web2 and web3. In Aug 5, 2022, the world-famous luxury brand launched its first NFT collection, containing 250 CryptoPunks-inspired digital passes. Priced at an ambitious 30 ETH, it was sold out in 20 minutes and brought in the equivalent of $12.5 million at that time.

The passes allowed CryptoPunk holders to redeem a digital artwork based on their original Punk. Each piece of digital artwork comes with a pendant in the same design. The pendants are pretty rare themselves, made of gold and precious stones selected to match each Punks’ unique traits.
