Public Safety Spending on AI to Rise 600% by 2030: Study

LYON, FR – A new study from French market intelligence platform Report Linker shows artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to revolutionize public safety, with spending projected to increase from $9.3 billion in 2022 to $71 billion by 2030 – an increase of over 600%. Regarding public safety specifically, AI has the potential to transform crisis management, enabling faster emergency response times.

According to the study, catastrophes that occur after natural disasters can potentially be averted by “analyzing vast amounts of data, such as weather patterns, geological activity, and infrastructure conditions, to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities.”

While concerns about misuse exist, AI can also be harnessed to protect systems, combat fraud, and enhance security measures. AI-powered drones can assess damage caused by natural disasters in real-time, aiding resource allocation. AI’s predictive analysis helps identify risks and vulnerabilities, allowing for proactive measures.

AI also has applications in preventive policing, criminal investigations, counterterrorism, and more. Ultimately, the nascent technology is recognized as a key tool in improving public safety and offering innovative solutions to address security challenges.
