Coinbase Launches New NFTs for Base Developers

Base, the new layer 2 created by Coinbase, is launching a new challenge that gamifies blockchain development on the network. Developers are encouraged to develop and deploy a smart contract onto the Base testnet, allowing them to mint a unique soul-bound NFT created by Andrea Oshea.

While it’s unclear whether this soul-bound NFT will offer any sort of utilities or memberships to upcoming features, it still helps identify developers in the web3 industry that take blockchain technology seriously and are willing to implement new ideas and concepts.

With a goal of attracting 1 billion new users, Coinbase’s ambitions with Base are incredibly high, and attracting developers passionate about blockchain adoption will be necessary as the project continues.
