Ledger Causing Uproar with Recovery

Ledger is under fire recently after the unveiling of their latest product service Ledger Recover. The service allows user to upload their private seed keys into fragmented shards and held on Ledger servers for quick recovery access if lost.

Obviously, this is causing a huge flood of criticism across all social media platforms as customers and critics lambast the company for suggesting a service that defeats the very nature of self-custody. Ledger is currently in repair mode, trying to explain the new feature as optional but customers are furious regardless with many claiming that Ledger doesn’t understand cryptocurrency

Ledger already had a poor reputation for customer privacy after their company was hacked in 2021. Hackers were able to acquire personal data from all of Ledger’s customers following the hack while Ledger tried to shy away from admitting what happened. Now, concerns are growing again as customers are quickly losing confidence in the company’s ability to keep private keys protected.
